Dr. Kim was born in 1954 at Inchon, Korea and immigrated to United States in 1971.

Attended Fairfax High School, El Camino College, University of Southern California and the dental school in University of California at San Francisco.

He married Joanne Kim in 1977 and has a son, Eric and a daughter, Charlene  and grandchildren Karis, Matthew, Justin, Ashly and Kristin.

He served Los Angeles  County Hospital for two years before opening the present private practice in Garden Grove in 1981.

He makes annual mission trip to serve Paraguayan every summer since 1991.
